Vincent Enot,
Born in 1994 in Cognac, I currently live in Paris, France.
Self-taught, I learned photography and refined my eye through my many travels. As an independent photographer, I structure my work around isolation, injustice, and shedding light on the daily lives of people in violent contexts where life and death intertwine.
I started photography in 2022 with a personal project: reaching Iceland by sea and then crossing the island on foot from north to south in complete autonomy. Through this work, I sought to explore different ways of escaping, both physically and mentally, through walking and the solitude it represents.
In 2023, I documented the protests against pension reform while also beginning a documentary project on the SMUR teams at Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital in Paris, as well as on the emergency services of the capital. I also traveled to the West Bank to initiate a long-term project aimed at depicting the daily lives of Palestinians after October 7 and the consequences on their lives.
My resolutely analog approach has led me to work in the darkroom from the very start. This practice allows me to maintain complete control over my medium and the creation of my images. Today, I am a member of Les Feuilles Rouges Darkroom. I develop various techniques that enable me to establish my work both in artistic photography and in a more classic documentary approach.
